What is the option to pay in installments on Shop Pay?

When checking out with Shop Pay, you now have the option to pay now or later. Paying in installments on Shop Pay allows you to split your purchase amount into four equal, biweekly installment payments with 0% APR, or monthly installments with no hidden or late fees*.

Which payment methods are accepted if I use the option to pay in installments on Shop Pay?

For non-interest bearing orders, debit and credit cards are accepted through Shop Pay. For interest bearing orders, you can only pay using a debit card.

Can I use Shop Pay Installments if I'm an international customer?

Shop Pay Installments is only available to customers with a United States billing address and a United States mobile phone number. Customers with international billing addresses or phone numbers can't use Shop Pay Installments.


Is there a limit to how much I can spend on a single Shop Pay Installments order?

Yes, 17,500 USD is the order value limit that applies to purchases using Shop Pay Installments, including discounts, shipping, and taxes.

Are there late fees?

No, there are no late fees if you miss a scheduled payment.

What if I miss an installment payment?

There are no late fees for customers who miss a scheduled payment. However, partial payments or late payments might impact your credit score, or your eligibility to use Shop Pay Installments in the future. If you have questions about a missed installment payment, then you can contact Affirm support for assistance.

What if I make a return on a purchase made through installments with Shop Pay?

To request a refund, contact the store where you purchased your item. Using their return policy, the store will advise if a return is possible. If a return is possible, then the store will advise how much the refunded amount will be. After your refund is processed, the refund amount will be applied to your original payment method within 3-10 business days and your balance will be updated.

If your refund is less than your total purchase balance, then it might not lower your next payment. Instead, you can expect fewer payments, a smaller final payment, or both.


If your refund is more than your purchase balance, then the difference is returned to your original payment method within 3-10 business days.


If your order is made with interest payments, then the paid interest isn't refunded. When you make payments, the funds are first applied to the accrued unpaid interest and then to the principal. Interest is the cost of borrowing, and isn't refundable.

What is Zip?

Zip is a global payments company headquartered in Sydney, Australia. Founded in 2013, Zip is an ASX-listed (Z1P) pioneer in the buy now, pay later category.

Zip’s buy now, pay later payment platform enables you to split your online orders into 4 equal installment payments.* You pay 25% at checkout, and then 25% every two weeks, paying the order off over a period of 6 weeks, and making it easier for you to stay on track financially. Orders may be subject to finance charges and/or late fees. Please see this article.

For example, for a $200 purchase, you’d make four $51 payments every two weeks starting today for a 34.7% annual percentage rate and a total of payments of $204.*

What is Zip Checkout?

Look for the Zip logo online when checking out at your favorite online retailers! Zip Checkout is available with select merchant sites, where you can select Zip as the payment method during checkout.

Is my Credit affected by using Zip?

When you apply a hard credit check is not performed, which means there is no impact on your credit score. However, a soft credit check is run when you apply.

What information do you collect?

Zip requires your name, address, email, date of birth, a US mobile number, and either a debit or credit card for sign up.


Instead of having a traditional username and password, Zip requires a mobile phone number and text message verification. Upon first sign-in, you can then set your login PIN and/or enable Facial ID.


You can also manage your account using the Zip Customer Portal by logging in with either your mobile number or email address.

How long does my purchase approval last?

Purchase requests are valid for 24 hours - after that the requests will be cancelled and you’ll need to re-apply to start a purchase.


If you no longer wish to complete a purchase, you can also cancel your request at any time.

Does Zip approve every order?

Zip assesses every order at the time it is placed. Our automated system takes into account various factors to determine whether you are approved for an order, and each is assessed individually.


When you place an order using Zip, an authorization for 25% of your purchase amount is made at the time of your purchase to confirm your installment plan. If you don't have these funds available, your order will not be approved.


Any Zip app orders that exceed your spending power ("available balance") will also not be approved. Be sure to reduce your order value to be equal to or less than your Zip spending power.

I returned my order to the merchant. Where is my refund?

If you have returned a Zip order to a merchant, whether in-store or via shipping, in order for your order to be refunded the merchant must issue the refund from their system to Zip’s. The same is true for items that are out of stock or on backorder, which a merchant has cancelled or removed from your order.


As soon as Zip receives a refund from a merchant, our system issues it to you and sends you an email notification. However, Zip cannot issue a refund for an order in which a merchant has not issued a refund for (partial or full). When you shop with Zip, you should refer to merchants’ specific refund policies. If you have not yet received confirmation from the merchant that they have refunded your order, please attempt to reach out to their support team to resolve your issue.


If you’ve returned your entire order, once the merchant issues your full refund Zip will send you an email notification stating it has been processed in our system. From this date, you should see refund amounts for the installments you’ve been charged reflected on your account statement within 5-10 days. Any unpaid installments will be credited, marking the order as “Paid Off”.


If you’ve returned part of your order, once the merchant issues your partial refund Zip will send you an email notification stating it has been processed in our system, at which point you can view your adjusted remaining installments in the Zip app. If the refund amount does not exceed the total of your remaining unpaid installments, it will apply as a credit equally to each remaining installment.


If the refunded amount does exceed the total of your remaining unpaid installments, your unpaid installments will be credited and marked as paid and the remaining refund amount will be issued as a cash refund, reflecting on your account statement within 5-10 days of Zip’s notification.


If part/all of your order is on backorder, and the merchant cancels items from your order and refunds them, the same process applies. Once the merchant issues your refund for your backorder items, Zip will send you an email notification stating it has been processed in our system, at which point you can view your adjusted remaining installments in the Zip app. If the refund amount does not exceed the total of your remaining unpaid installments, it will apply as a credit equally to each remaining installment.


If the refunded amount does exceed the total of your remaining unpaid installments, your unpaid installments will be credited and marked as paid and the remaining refund amount will be issued as a cash refund, reflecting on your account statement within 5-10 days of Zip’s notification.


Note: If you have tried to get in touch with a merchant regarding a return, and have not heard from them in over a week, please reach out to Zip Support, providing any supporting evidence for your return (return receipt/shipping label, picture of damaged goods, screenshot of merchant committing to refund the order, etc.).

What is Bread Pay™?

Bread Pay™ is a pay-over-time technology solution that helps you make purchases with easy-to-understand equal payments. Bread Pay™ products include the Bread Pay™ Installment plan, with terms from 3 to 48 months, and the Bread Pay™ SplitPay plan, with four payments made every two weeks, each payment being 25% of the original purchase amount.

How do Bread Pay Installment Loans™ work?

Bread Pay Installment Loans™ are designed to offer customers a simple payment solution. Shoppers make equal monthly payments until their loan is repaid. Shoppers are reminded of their due date each month, and there is no penalty for early repayment.

How can I change my order?

We are unable to change or add to an order that has already been placed. To place a second updated order, please contact XOTIC PC directly and request an order cancellation or return.


Once the XOTIC PC receives and processes your cancellation or return, a partial or full refund will be automatically applied to your Bread Pay Installment Loan™. Your account status and balance will be adjusted accordingly.


You may still have an outstanding balance after a cancellation has been processed. This balance could consist of restocking fees, return shipping fees, accrued interest, or some combination of these. Please check the retailer’s refund and returns policy to determine if these fees apply to your purchase and return.


If a partial cancellation or return is issued, your account balance will be adjusted to reflect your new remaining balance. If a cancellation or refund is issued in full, any payments made on your Bread Pay Installment Loan will be returned to you less any applicable accrued interest, restocking fees, or return shipping fees.


Any cancellations or refunds issued in excess of your current account balance will result in a customer credit. This credit will be returned to the account used to make payments towards your Bread Pay Installment Loan.

Can I return an item I bought with Bread Pay™?

To request an order return or an order cancellation, please contact the XOTIC PC.


All order returns are subject to the XOTIC PC's return and cancellation policies. Once the XOTIC PC issues your order return, a partial or full order refund is automatically applied to your Bread Pay™ account. Your account status and balance are adjusted accordingly.


You may still have an outstanding balance on your Bread Pay account after an order refund has been processed. This balance could consist of restocking fees, accrued interest, return shipping fees, or a combination of these.


If a partial order refund is issued, your account balance will be adjusted to reflect your new remaining balance.
