Are you in the market for a new PC? Deciding between buying a pre-built PC and a custom-built rig can be difficult, but XOTIC PC is here to help. With more than 20 years of industry experience, it’s safe to say that we know a thing or two about gaming PCs and how to choose the right one. In this guide, we explore the drawbacks and benefits of buying a pre-built gaming computer. With more information about components, financing, performance, and warranties, you can shop with confidence and make the best decision for your gaming setup at home. Benefits of Buying a Prebuilt Gaming ComputerEven if you plan on building your own gaming rig, it’s important to ease into the PC gaming experience. There’s no need to shell out hundreds or even thousands of dollars on cutting-edge components when you have no clue as to what hardware resources are needed to support the ultimate setup with the right specifications. We rounded up some of the biggest benefits of buying a pre-built gaming computer to give you insight before you make your final decision.Component Compatibility: At first glance and at probably every step of the PC build, picking components can be problematic. You might buy the wrong power supply, misjudge the amount of RAM you need, or make a critical mistake while installing the water-cooling system in your case. With a pre-built PC, all the minimum hardware requirements and compatibility specifications have been met for you. You can also upgrade your components with most suppliers.Customer Support: When you build a custom gaming PC, one major drawback is the lack of support. Pre-built PC companies usually offer some form of live chat or quick-response customer service, so you can receive help diagnosing hardware and software issues or find all the answers to your burning questions.Financing: Anyone who has built a gaming PC before can tell you just how expensive it can get. It can be tough not to lose sight of the budget when you are trying to design the ultimate gaming setup. However, pre-built PC companies typically provide financing options, so you can make quick monthly payments without any hidden fees or surprises.Performance Tuning: From overclocking to professional calibration, there are an array of performance benefits when you choose to buy a pre-built PC rather than building your own. Price: As we already mentioned, hardcore gaming computers don’t come cheap. Market conditions have made custom builds far more expensive than they should be, but that won’t stop the prices from rising. Pre-built PC companies often have access to components in bulk at lower prices than you can ever find at retail. There are certainly ways to cut costs by building a budget gaming PC, but we believe the benefits of buying a pre-built computer outweigh the time and money it takes to achieve a custom build. We hope that this article provides enough insight for you to start your search with confidence. I have to admit, the next best thing about getting this laptop is the reaction of my 15yo when he found out it has the Nvidia 5070 graphics card. He almost sh!t a brick, and there was a palpable satisfaction in denying him permission to play minecraft to test it out. (However, I offered to let him watch a movie with me instead, an equally valid testing medium, which he declined.)
Like any good parent, i pointed out a good way to get more "yes"s from the adults you're stuck with, is to be less selfish with what you request. Example, Teen- "can I play minecraft?" Mom- "No I don't like that game, but I'm thinking about getting into playing Fortnite" Teen- *pout*
Correction suggested, "mom, can I download fortnite and play a round with the character after you do your build? " Heck yeah, you can!
This is a great laptop, and the perfect surface upon which to rest it is my naked cat, Cleo. She loves toasty things, yet this laptop has not yet gotten overheated. I got several heat sinks added, so ideally it will not be a problem, ever...
Currently using the laptop to social post from my couch, but winning that sweet gaming gear would be the perfect finale.
I spent weeks looking at configs on different custom builder sites like Digital Storm, Falcon Northwest, etc. Out of all these companies Xotic had the most powerful components I could find... "combination-wise." Here's the config: NVIDIA 5090 GPU; AMD 9800X3d; CORSAIR VENGEANCE 96GB 6000 MT/s CL 30 RAM; MSI Godlike Motherboard; Samsung 9100 PRO SSD; Lian Li fans; Liquid-cooling for CPU.
I'm a hard-core gamer with money to spend, so I went for the gusto obviously.
I own a $2k Lenovo Legion PC with a 4070 Super and a PS5 PRO. This PC from Xotic outperforms both by a long shot in terms of FPS, lack of lag/stuttering during gameplay, and loading times.
I also really appreciate the fact that the staff at Xotic actually answer their phone AND your questions during their business hours...consistently!
Love options of custom builds very good quality supreme choices of features and spec's will see how this PC works and how long it lasts longer than expected
